Main Street Gym’s Bobby Hammond dropped a close decision on Friday, March 14th, in the 156 lb. quarter-final of the ECBA Championships.
Jill Lawson and Shawn Woodford, of Main Street Gym, won their exhibition fights via third round stoppages Sunday at the Eastern Collegiate Boxing Association (ECBA) Championships.
Lawson defeated Ariel Hostettor, of Lock Haven University. Lawson scored three standing-8-counts during the first two rounds. After a barrage of punches landed by Lawson during the third round, the referee stopped the bout.
Woodford defeated Ralph Shui, of the University of Maryland. Woodford outboxed his opponent during the first two rounds, and scored a standing-8-count in the third. Immediately following the eight-count, Woodford dropped Shui with a vicious left hook to the body ending the bout.
In addition to representing Main Street Gym, Hammond and Lawson also represented Salisbury University.
